I do realize that it has been a while, but in my defense, college does require time and effort. Now that I am done explaining my lack of posting, I guess I should begin posting music. My current obsession is the songs from the film Ghajini. For those of you who do not know, Ghajini was originally a film that was created in Tamil. It was based of the film Memento, so it was quite an interesting development in Tamil cinema. In this interpretation, the main character is the leader of a large coorporation that has short term memory loss. Even though he has this mental illness, he wants to avenge the death of the love of his life. In short, it is a pretty amazing film, and I am quite interested to see the Hindi version of the film. The music in the Tamil version was outstanding (to say the least); the music in the Hindi version is good but it does not compare. The music is composed by the famous A.R. Rahman, but he fails to match the same haunting tunes that Harris Jayraj (composed the Tamil Ghajini soundtrack) managed to create. Nonetheless, the soundtrack is enjoyable and upon a few listens, it is bearable. I am a personal fan of the song "Guzarish." It is simple and easy on the ears. It is very melodious and there is not a lot of weird embelishment on the song.
