I'm back and right now, I'm kind of in a j-urban music/Namie Amuro kind of mood. Namie has been in the Japanese music industry for quite a while. She began in a group called Super Monkeys singing eurodance music in the early 90s. Finally, she started her solo career with "Try me." After this hit, she sung many more hit songs and her popularity rose. Eventually, she had to take a break due to her marriage and pregnancy, but she eventually came back. Again, her songs were quite popular and she rose to favor yet again, but tragedy struck when her mother was brutally murdered. Fans were afraid that this would permanently put an end to Namie's singing career, but she came back to the industry with a new sound. Instead of singing pop/dance music, she started to sing hip hop/r&b tracks. At first, she was not well received, but she soon rose to prominence yet again. Personally, I adore Namie Amuro and her music and her latest song with Double (another j-urban artist), Black Diamond, does not disappoint. I like the feeling of the song and in terms of singing, I feel that both Namie and Double did a fairly good job. I also suggest watching the MV for the song; Namie clearly outshines Double in terms of dancing and beauty but it is still a fun video to watch. .

I figured that I'd start a music blog since I feel that a lot of music from different countries isn't given enough recognition. Currently, I've been having an obsession with chill trance, mainly that of Hôtel Costes and it's DJ Stéphane Pompougnac. For those of you who aren't familiar with the hotel, it's fairly well known in Paris for its bar and courtyard café. The hotel releases Cds which primarily consist of chill trance and lounge music. Currently, I have been obsessed with a couple of tracks from the Hôtel Costes discography. London in the Rain is an excellent track that I immediately adored. My Funny Valentine is also an excellent track which is very calming to listen to. The last track that I recommend is What it Feels like for a Girl by the legendary Madonna. Pompougnac gives this track a new feeling suited to that of Hôtel Costes. The remix is another easy to listen to track. For more Hôtel Costes, I suggest picking up their album, Best of Costes... it's a great way to introduce oneself to Hôtel Costes.
